Description: Superb communication – written, visual, and oral – is the hallmark of great organizations. The outside world needs to know where the organization is going, what it is doing, what it stands for, and why it is making the choices that it is making. So do the inside stakeholders. Written materials act to engage, inform, educate, and inspire. Speeches and discussions should be clear, creative, focused, and aligned with the message and style of the organization.
Another benefit to working on communication is that the process of doing so often clarifies and enhances the ideas of writers/speakers/strategists themselves: as the saying goes (attributed to both E.M. Forster and Graham Wallas):
“How can I know what I think till I see what I say?”
