Jim LeFevre is the principal consultant at LeFevre & Associates. Jim is an organizational consultant who has worked for more than 20 years with clients from many sectors of the nonprofit spectrum. These clients include statewide land trusts and humanities councils, museums, health care organizations, international family planning organizations, and Planned Parenthood affiliates throughout the United States. Jim was the Chief Executive Officer of Planned Parenthood of Northern New England for 18 years. In 1995, he moved to national headquarters (Planned Parenthood Federation of America) serving as Interim Co-President, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Strategic Officer. Jim has received many awards honoring his accomplishments.
He is the author of two books: A Case for Merger: the Story of Planned Parenthood of Northern New England (1986) and Redirecting Boards: A New Vision for Governance for Planned Parenthood (1993). |

Karen LeFevre, who holds a Ph.D. in Communication and Rhetoric, consults as an editor and communication coach, assisting at any point in the process of creating documents or presentations. She draws on more than 25 years’ experience as a university faculty member (Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, University of Vermont) teaching a wide variety of classes in writing and speaking. Her editorial experience covers many fields (such as medicine, organization development, biography, technical communication, literature) and genres (nonfiction writing, oral presentations, grants, proposals, books, articles, resumes, brochures, online publications). Currently Karen is also a research associate professor (part-time) at the University of Vermont College of Medicine, doing research on patient education.
Her book INVENTION AS A SOCIAL ACT (1987, Southern Illinois University Press) has been reprinted several times and is regarded as a foundational work for scholars about rhetorical invention, specifically about social aspects of the process by which writers and speakers generate ideas for what they create. |

Sally Fri consults in the research and coordination of management projects, especially in the areas of strategic planning and organizational development. Sally provides administrative services for LeFevre & Associates projects and actively engages in our work in designing and organizing meetings.
Sally has worked in the nonprofit sector for almost 15 years. She was the Executive Coordinator and Deputy Director of Organizational Development for Ipas, an international nonprofit focusing on improving reproductive health care for women in the developing world and the U.S. Sally also worked with Planned Parenthood Federation of America in New York as the Manager of Strategic Planning and Product/Customer Specialist.
